Bacteriostatic water is a sterile, non-pyrogenic preparation of water containing \(0.9\%\) benzyl alcohol (\(9 \text{ mg/mL}\)) added as a preservative. It is primarily used as a solvent or diluent to dissolve or dilute lyophilized research compounds in laboratory preparations.
